US Commission No. SLCE000282

Zlate Moravce is located NE of Nitra. Last known Jewish burial was in 1971. The isolated suburban hillside has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all via a broken masonry wall and a non-locking gate. Present size of the cemetery is 50 x70 meters. 20-100 19th-20th century marble, granite, and sandstone flat shaped tombstones or finely smoothed and inscribed stones, some with metal fences around graves are in original locations. Inscriptions are Hebrew, German, Slovak, and Hungarian. Within the limits of the cemetery are a pre-burial house and a coach for the burial ceremony. The site is used for Jewish cemetery only. Adjacent properties are gardens. Occasionally, private visitors stop. Vandalism is a moderate threat; pollution is a minor threat.
