International Jewish Cemetery Project - Malta

There are also at least three existing Jewish cemetries. Two of which are un-used. One is the Jewish cemetery at Kalkara, the other un-used one is at Ta' Braxia and the one being used today is at Marsa. If you are at all interested I am completing a list of all the people buried in each cemetery and can let you have it as soon as it is finished. "Qabar (Kabar) tal-Lhud" Cemetery: The Jewish cemetery is still called Kibur el Lhud (Burial Place of the Jews), from Moslem times. Newly discovered catacombs attest to a Jewish community on Malta as early as the 3rd century B.C. Source: World Guide for the Jewish Traveler; by Warren Freedman, E.P. Dutton Inc, NY 1984.
