Size: 7000 graves; Opened 1863; Adath Jeshurun congregation members used the cemetery exclusively until 1968 then opened up to others. "Beth Israel Cemetery" was affiliated with Congregation Beth Israel and listed as located at Randolph, between Federal and Washington Avenue and also at Arabella Street, now Randolph Street, above Federal, opposite Union Burying Ground (6). Contact: Roosevelt Memorial Park (215) 673-7500, for remains removed about 1935 to Roosevelt Memorial Park). Aaron Roetenberg located these reinterred graves. Written on the stone is, "Here lie reinterred, those who were formerly buried in the Arabella Cemetery 1844-1908."
