Congregation Degel Israel: {10551} } Huntingtonville, Town of Watertown, NY 13601. The cemetery is located on the northeast side of Watertown, NY at Huntingtonville, near the Town of Pamela line. From Route 3 (Eastern Avenue), turn east on Huntington Street and travel 0.6 mile (following sign for Calvary Cemetery). The first cemetery on Huntington Street is Calvary Cemetery, then an old cemetery, and lastly, the (Old) Congregation Degel Israel cemetery, approximately 25 feet wide by 72 feet deep. The property is enclosed with a fence with a gate. The property is well maintained. Many old trees surround the cemetery. The abundance of shade has encouraged the growth of moss on the stones making many of them illegible. Only twelve markers were visible in 1996. At the early part of this century, H. Ellis was president of this cemetery according to old Watertown city directories. Source: Janet Lavine (Mrs. Barry) This email address is being protected from spambots.
