41°43′01″N 74°23′36″W.  Ellenville is a village in Ulster County with a 2010 population of 4,135 in ZIP code is 12428. The village of Ellenville is within the town of Wawarsing, approximately ninety miles NE of New York City and ninety miles SW of Albany at the junction of Routes NY 52 and US 209 and bisected by the recently-designated Shawangunk Scenic Byway. Ellenville lies in the Rondout Valley at the eastern base of the Catskill Mountains and the western base of the Shawangunk Ridge. [Mar 2013]

Erzreth Israel and Anshei Zadok, congregations in Ellenville, own two cemeteries in Wawarsing township.

  • Congregation Anshei Synagogue Cemetery and Ezrath Israel Cemetery: north of Ellenville, NY and Napanoch, NY on Route 209. Take the NY State Thruway to Exit 16 Harriman.  Go thru toll and you are on Route 17 West.  Take 17 West to Exit 113 (Wurtsboro/Ellenville). Turn right at the end of the off ramp, toward Wurtsboro.  This is Route 209. Stay on 209 thru Wurtsboro, Spring Glen, Ellenville, Napanoch.  When you go thru the traffic light in Napanoch you are almost there.  You will go up a hill and see a cemetery on the left side of 209 this is Ezrath Israel cemetery. The right side of 209 opposite Ezrath Israel cemetery is a driveway that goes up a steep hill and a cemetery on top of that hill, this is Anshe Tzaydik.  You need to make a wide swing and go up this driveway to the top and you will see the grave.
