Approximately 35 tombstones were desecrated and overturned in this cemetery in mid-January ... the local papers quoted police as minimizing the anti-Semitic intent of the incident, calling it a 'youthful prank,' though the perpetrators had systematically broken into the cemetery's shed and used cemetery backhoe equipment to overturn tombstones."
