Located on Six Mile Road, just east of Middlebelt Road. Originally called Northwest Hebrew Memorial Park at Six Mile Road and Middlebelt, the 40-acre site was dedicated in 1941. It contains 10,000 plots, about half available for purchase. Professional landscapers care for the grounds. Special floral plantings and perennial plants are permitted. Adat Shalom established a Memorial Park Board of Trustees and a Perpetual Trust Fund to insure continuous maintenance of the park. The cemetery is open weekdays (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday (closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays). For information, contact Steven Goldsmith, 248-557-1787. [June 2002]
