Jewish interments are found in Block 20, located south of Voorhees Street, and in the Mausoleum, located north of Voorhees Street. In addition to the 263 burials identified in the Jewish sections in November 1999, Spring Hill Cemetery contains several thousand non-Jewish burials. The Jewish section is owned by Congregation Israel Synagogue (14 East Ridgeview Street, Danville IL 61832, phone 217-442-6643) and managed by its Cemetery Committee (Sybil Mervis, Chair). The non-Jewish sections are owned and operated by Spring Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, 301 E Voorhees St, Danville IL 61832, phone (217) 442-0334.

A Jewish community has been present in Danville since about 1850. The Jewish section of Spring Hill Cemetery formally began in 1905 with the purchase by the newly formed Danville B'nai B'rith Lodge 568 of a single plot for the burial of a poor Jewish person. Beginning in January 1906, space for multiple plots was purchased from Spring Hill Cemetery. These spaces were used by the congregations of Temple Beth El (organized on 12 October 1902 and incorporated in 1909 as the Reform Congregation of Danville) and Congregation Anshe Knesset Israel (incorporated as a Conservative Congregation on 20 September 1915). Temple Beth El is no longer active and Congregation Anshe Knesset Israel is the current Congregation Israel Synagogue.
