Jewish history and photos: "While they had worshipped together informally for decades, in 1946, Jews from southeast Arkansas officially founded a congregation, which they named Meir Chayim Temple, and built a synagogue in McGehee.  Meir Chayim served the Jewish communities of McGehee, Dumas, and other small towns in southeast Arkansas.  Though small, the congregation remains active today."
