MURUD (Maharashtra)

Located near the Neo-Buddhist settlement. In the 17th and 18th centuries, about 600 Bene Israel Jewish families lived in Murud. Today none remain. The cemetery is in ruins with few matzevot. JOWBR burial listings. [August 2010]
