DALHEIM: 55278 Rhineland-Palatinate (Gerz)
(Kreis Mainz)
Friedhof an der Hohl

"The Jewish cemetery was not laid out in 1870, as was usually stated in the past. The cemetery was inaugurated in the summer of 1858 after the political community had given the site to the Jewish community free of charge on the basis of a contract in October 1855 (see document below). There is a short report on the inauguration of the cemetery in the Allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums of July 12, 1858.

The last burial was in 1918 (Anselm Lyon, who died at the age of 93 and was one of the last Jewish residents of the place). The cemetery area covers 8.00 acres.
