ALBISHEIM: 67308 Rhineland-Palatinate (Gerz)
  • Jewish Cemetery: Owned and maintained by the Jewish congregation of the town, this 773 sq. meter cemetery opened in 1866. Plat Nr. 1549. (Source: Ernest B. Nathan, who received permission from Juedische Kultusgemeinde der Rheinpfalz to donate this data.) The small cemetery, located on a hillside near a church, is surrounded by a fence with a small wooden gate. The gravestones are simple and small. The most interesting one is a large boulder used to mark the grave of Marx Gumbel. It has lost the plaque with his name on it, but his wife placed it there as a depiction of his character.
