NOTES:

  • Most of the old gravestones are very attractive, the oldest dated 1839 and the most recent 1917.
  • This is a small cemetery for a Jewish community which had a recorded presence from 1675 until 1923. Up to 1878 this cemetery was also used for burials by the Jewish community of Coburg. The terraced cemetery is surrounded by a massive dry-stone wall with two wrought iron gates, one main entrance and a smaller side gate. The cemetery is kept in good order.
