"When I visited in August 2000, the cemetery was beautifully kept with an on-site caretaker. The synagogue in town has lists of burials with site numbers. The current congregation seems to be primarily of recent Russian origin and they use a new section of the same cemetery. I have a few pictures." UPDATE: "Mr.Angerstorfer, a professor at the Regensburg University, was very kind and accompanied me to the Jewish Cemetery. The Old Cemetery is closed because of the bad state of the graves and we only were able to visit it, because the warden knows Mr.Angerstofer. Most of the stones are in very bad shape . . . . [Mr.Angerstofer] teaches ancient History at the University, very interested in the History of the Jews, particularly in Regensburg, and last, but not least, reads Hebrew fluently."
