LOCATION OF CEMETERY: Amidst a built-up area in the immediate vicinity of the junction Kohlbergstrasse (A) and Waldstrasse "Am jüdischen Friedhof".

IN USE: From 1774 until 1942.

NUMBER OF GRAVESTONES: 403. Oldest datable gravestone 1796.

NOTES:

  • Desecrations of this cemetery took place in 1928 (twice),1932 and 1935.
  • The cemetery still contains a large mortuary also housing a hearse.
  • A solid stone wall with a metal gate hung between two stone pillars surrounds the cemetery, which also has a memorial stone in honour and in memory of the victims of racial persecution 1933-1945. The cemetery is very well maintained.
