Alternate names: Rafalovka [Rus, Yid], Rafałówka [Pol], Rafalivka, Рафалівка [Ukr], רפלובקה [Hebrew]. 51°19' N, 25°59' E, 48 miles NE of Lutsk, 27 miles W of Sarny. Two nearby towns are named Rafalovka. Staraya Rafalovka = "Old Rafalowka". The larger is at 51°19'/25°59', the smaller at 51°22'/25°52'. 1900 Jewish population: 1,054. Shtetl information. Yizkor project. The Jewish settlement existed in the mid-1600s. The town was destroyed in WWII. The earliest known Jewish community was 19th century. 1939 Jewish population (census) was 565. Effecting Jewish Community was Khmelnitskiy's pogroms and World War I. The Jewish cemetery was established in the 19th century with last known Karlin-Stiun Hasidic burial 1941. No other towns or villages used this unlandmarked cemetery. The isolated suburban flat land has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all. No wall, fence, or gate surrounds site. 21 to 100 stones, all in original location with 50% - 75% toppled or broken, date from 19th century. The cemetery has only common tombstones. The cemetery contains no known mass graves. Municipality owns site used for Jewish cemetery only. Properties adjacent are residential. The cemetery boundaries are unchanged since 1939. Rarely, organized individual tours and local residents visit. The cemetery was vandalized prior to World War II. There is no maintenance. Within the limits of the cemetery are no structures. Moderate threat: uncontrolled access, pollution, vegetation and vandalism. Slight threat: weather erosion and proposed nearby development.

Alternate name: Rafalowka (Yiddish.) Staraya Rafalovka is located in Rovenskaya at 51º22 25º22 or º27, 88 km from Rovno. The cemetery is located at SE, road to Suhoval. Present town population is under 1,000 with no Jews.

Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all. A continuous fence with no gate surrounds the cemetery. No stones are visible. Location of any removed stones is unknown. The cemetery contains no known mass graves. Municipality owns site used for agriculture (crops or animal grazing.) Properties adjacent are commercial or industrial and residential. The cemetery boundaries are unchanged since 1939. Rarely, Jewish or non-Jewish private visitors stop. The cemetery was vandalized during World War II. There is no maintenance. Within the limits of the cemetery are no structures. Moderate threat: uncontrolled access and vandalism. Slight threat: vegetation, existing nearby and proposed development.

The cemetery is located at NE, road to Suhovalya. The unlandmarked Jewish cemetery was established in 1901. The last known, Karlin-Stolin Hasidic burial was 1941. The isolated wooded hillside and crown of a hill has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all. No wall, fence, or gate surrounds the cemetery. 21 to 100 common tombstones, most in original location with 25%-50% toppled or broken, date from 19th to 20th century. Location of any removed stones is unknown. The cemetery contains no known mass graves. Municipality owns site used for Jewish cemetery and waste dumping. Properties adjacent are residential and forest. The cemetery boundaries are unchanged since 1939. Rarely, Jewish or non-Jewish private visitors and local residents visit. The cemetery was vandalized frequently in the last ten years. There is no maintenance. Within the limits of the cemetery are no structures. Serious threat: uncontrolled access (Need fence and ceretaker) and vandalism (We can see fresh dig out grave.) Moderate threat: weather erosion and pollution. Slight threat: vegetation.
