Jablonov is located in Ivano-Frankovskaya at 48º24 24º57, 17 km from Kosov, 23 km from Kolomiya, 83 km from Ivano-Frankovsk and 75 km from Chernovtsi. Present town population is 1,000-5,000 with no Jews.

The earliest known Jewish Community was 17th century. 1939 Jewish population (census) was 834. The Jewish cemetery was established in 1714 with last known Hasidic Jewish burial in 1939. No other towns or villages used this unlandmarked cemetery. The isolated suburban and rural (agricultural) hillside has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all. "Other" and no gate surrounds the cemetery. 101 to 500 stones, most in original location and between 25%-50% toppled or broken date from 1714 to 20th century. Stones removed were incorporated into roads or structures. The cemetery has no special sections. Some tombstones have traces of painting on their surfaces. The cemetery contains unmarked mass graves. The municipality owns the property now used for agriculture (crops or animal grazing). Adjacent properties are commercial or industrial and residential. The cemetery boundaries are unchanged since 1939. The cemetery is visited rarely by "other." The cemetery was vandalized during World War II. There is no maintenance. Very serious threat: uncontrolled access. Moderate threat: vegetation. Slight threat: existing nearby development. No threat: weather erosion, pollution, vandalism, and proposed nearby development.
