The Jewish cemetery lies on the boundary of the village by the road connecting Davidov and Cabov villages in Presov region - district Vranov nad Toplou / Presovsky kraj - okres Vranov nad Toplou at 48˚44"N 21˚16"E, 50 km east of Kosice. Alternate/ names: Hungarian-Davidvagas/Davidvagasa. Ruthen-Davydiv. Present total town population is under 1,000 with no Jews. Date of earliest known Jewish community in town was 2 Jews in 1769. 1939 census: 36 Jews. They were deported during the Nazi Slovak State. According to my grandparents, the whole village was crying at the time of deportations. The people in a village had a good relation with the Jews, who were mostly peasants but also owners of the inn and grocery store. They used a small house called "Buzna" as a prayer house. The cemetery was used by Davidov and Cabov. The isolated unlandmarked cemetery with no fence or wall is in a rural (agricultural) area on flat land with no sign or marker. 1-20 gravestones remain visible with less than 25% broken or damaged. Vegetation overgrowth in the cemetery is a constant problem, disturbing graves. Water drainage at the cemetery is good all year round. The sandstone tombstones and memorial markers have Hebrew inscriptions. No known mass graves. The cemetery is used only as a Jewish cemetery. The cemetery is visited by rarely by private visitors (Jewish or non-Jewish) and local residents. No caretaker or structures. Uncontrolled access, vandalism, and vegetation are moderate threats.
