50°51' N 20°32' E, 98.7 miles SSW of Warszawa. This village in the administrative district of Gmina Sitkówka-Nowiny, within Kielce County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in south-central Poland, 3 km (2 mi) N of Osiedle-Nowiny and 8 km (5 mi) SW of the regional capital Kielce has a population of 98 in 2008. SW part of Kielce on the Bobrza River, Słowik was a recreational area for Kielce from the second half of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century on the No. 762 road and Krakow railway line with a station in Słowik. No information about a cemetery here has been donated; most likely, Jews from here were buried in Kielce. [July 2009]
In early 1960s, I spent a day in a little village which name is "Slowik" ("swovik" which means a "nightingale" in Polish) not far away from Kielce.
