Coat of arms of Rudnik nad Sanem Alternate names:  רודניק Ridnik [Yid]. 50°26' N, 22°15' E . (until 1997 called Rudnik). Słownik Geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego (1880-1902), IX, p. 933: "Rudnik" #4. ShtetLink. This town in Nisko powiat, Subcarpathian Voivodeship with a 2009 population of 6,765 on the river San ("nad Sanem"mean on the San), 4 miles SW of Ulanów and 29 miles NE of Rzeszów. Until WWII, the population was predominantly Jewish including Rabbis Chaim Halberstam, who served as its town rabbi from 1796, Boruch Halberstam (1860-1867), Tsvi Hersh Halberstam (1867-1906), and Avrohom Halberstam (1906-?). Gmina Rudnik nad Sanem is an urban-rural administrative district in Nisko powiat that also contains contains the villages and settlements of Chałupki, Kopki, Przędzel and Przędzel-Kolonia.
