Pustków is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Dębica in Dębica County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship approximately 7 mi NE of Dębica and 24 mi W of the regional capital Rzeszów. 50°8′25″N 21°29′20″E. Originally, the German occupiers planned to build a huge SS training camp including shops and military installations.To build a first work camp, 15 villages were evacuated and burned. The first prisoners arrived in 1940, most Jews from every region of Poland. Due to the terrible conditions of life in this first camp, most of these prisoners died in the next months.
