This village at 50°01' - 22°19' in Łańcut County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship in SE Poland is the seat of theadministrative district called Gmina Markowa approximately 5 mi SE of Łańcut and 14 mi E of the regional capital Rzeszów. The village 2005 population was 4,100. Markowa is located in the Diocese of Przemysl. In 1931, Markowa was one of the biggest Polish villages with 931 houses and 4,442 inhabitants, the majority being Catholics, but about 120 Jews. WWII history. Jewish history. photo of memorial.
