Alternate names: Dubienka [Pol, Yid], Dubyenka [Rus], Dibenka, Dubenka, Russian: Дубенка. דוביינקה-Hebrew.  51°03' N, 23°53' E, 18 miles ESE of Chełm, 17 miles N of Hrubieszów, 59 mi E of the regional capital Lublin on the modern Poland-Ukraine border. 1900 Jewish population: 2,343. The village of Dubienka is the seat of Gmina Dubienka, a rural administrative district in Chełm County, Lublin Voivodeship in eastern Poland on the border with Ukraine. 2006 gmina population was 2,749. Villages and settlements include Brzozowiec, Dubienka, Holendry, Janostrów, Jasienica, Józefów, Kajetanówka, Krynica, Lipniki, Mateuszowo, Nowokajetanówka, Radziejów, Rogatka, Siedliszcze, Skryhiczyn, Stanisławówka, Starosiele, Tuchanie, Uchańka and Zagórnik. photos. CEMETERY: The cemetery established in the end of 16th century is located in western part of the town, west of the intersection of Piasek and Armii Krajowej St. Single-family houses cover part of the cemetery. During WWII, mass executions happened here. [April 2009]
