The village of Cyców is the gmina seat, 12 mi E of Łęczna and 25 mi Eof the regional capital Lublin. The gmina 2006 population was 7,516. Cycow is in the center of the gmina at the junctions of several minor highways. The land is undulating, open, and arable with the Swinka river flowing past to the north of the village. The first mention is in 1423.
