The earliest known Jewish community was in the 19th century. The 1921 Jewish population was 406. The Orthodox cemetery dates from 1850. The isolated wooded flat land has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all via broken masonry wall with no gate. The size of cemetery before WWII was about 4.3 hectares. Fewer than 20 gravestones are mostly toppled or broken. Some markers are concrete. Adjacent areas are forest. The municipality owns the unused forest property. Rarely visited by local residents, the cemetery was vandalized during World War II and has not been maintained. Its destruction is complete.
