Some time between 1775 and 1828, Pomáz acquired 51 Jewish residence. In 1860, 130 Jews lived there. The ancient synagogue was demolished by the Germans in 1944. Its scale-model can be found at the Szántó Memorial House in Szentendre. [February 2009]

 

Orthodox Cemetery: The smaller Orthodox cemetery is opposite the Neolog (Reform) cemetery.

Neolog Cemetery. The Neological cemetery istill used by the remaining Jews of Pomáz is is cared for by the couple living in the ceremonial building, Andrásné Bagin and István Boros, Ady Endre Street 48. Only a few old families (Schiffer, Schiller, Boross) remained, but young people moved here from Budapest. [February 2009]
