The first Jews settled after 1850, but the village agricultural land was owned by several aristocrats, who established produce processing operations that excluded the Jews. The lack of opportunity meant the young generally left the village. In 1855, the congregation affiliated with Mandok. In 1944, first taken to Mandok, then Kisvarda, the Jews of Ksvarsany perished in Auschwitz.[February 2009]
