Alternate names: Bácsalmás [Hun], Almás, Bácsahná, Aljmaš [Croa], Aljmaš [Serb], Almasch [Ger].46°08' N, 19°20' E. yizkor . Jewish population: 189 (in 1880)  Holocaust history mentioning Bacsalmas. The synagogue was built in 1888, but was sold in 1956 and turned into a school. [February 2009]

 

Jewish cemetery: The well-kept cemetery with fences around it, still has some burials even today. The first tombstones date from the early 19th century. The cemetery is located far out of the village, near an almost inaccessible earth road. [February 2009]
