Jewish population: 2,279 (in 1897) .

Russian source with photos: "...Sinyava first mentioned in historical documents in 1543. First mention of the Jewish population in 1570 relates to the township has undergone defeat during the Khmelnytsky. In the nineteenth century. largest trade and craft town. Jewish population: 1765 - 834 Jews, 1897 - 2279 (50% of the population), 1923. - 1322, 1939 - 1237 (21%). More than 500 Jews were shot in Old Sinyava and buried in a pit unfinished bunker half a kilometer north of the sugar mill. August 19, 1941. Most of the surviving Jews from the Old Sinyava district were shot at Starokonstantinov July 23, 1942 In the summer of 1943 another 80 Jews were shot in the place of execution. In the destruction of the Jews of the Old Siiyavy involved more than a dozen Ukrainian police. Jews today do not live here."
