San Pedro Sula Jewish community formed, headed by Boris Goldstein, who donated the land for the synagogue and the cemetery. Jose Brandel was the religious leader. Jacob Weizenblut later became the first Honorary Consul of Israel to San Pedro Sula. The community has about 20 families. Bnai Brith. [July 2009]
