. Boisbriand is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in SW Quebec, on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille-Îles in the Thérèse-De Blainville Regional County Municipality. Although relatively small, Boisbriand has the highest number of highways per sqkm: Highway 13 on the west, Highway 15 on the east, and Highway 640 in the middle/north.
The rapidly growing Hasidic community of Kiryas Tosh is located within the city limits. Tosher Rebbe, Meshulim Feish (Ferencz) Lowy, established the community in 1963.
KIRYAS TOSH CEMETERY: An ultra-orthodox, very insular community, located in Boisbriand, about 20 miles north of Montreal, their cemetery is located behind the buildings, notably behind the synagogue ('les batiments religieuses'). On the city map, if you look for 'le chemin de la Rivière Cachée' and follow it a little out of the city centre, you'll see a small group of buildings and the name: "rue Beth Halevy". According to the librarian/researcher at the City Hall, the Tash cemetery is behind the 'religious buildings', i.e.: the synagogue, yeshiva, etc. She told me that the Tosh community obtained approval to build and maintain this cemetery from the Quebec government a few years ago.
