CEMETERIES:

An old Jewish cemetery is situated behind the shops at corner of Hope Street and High Street. Among the disused cemeteries administered by the Board of Deputies of British Jews - general enquiries to the Board's Community Issues Division.  [Jewish Year Book 2005]

In use from 1859 to 1899. Possibly the smallest Jewish cemetery in England. Maintained by the local authority, but funded by the Board of Deputies. Contains only 11 headstones, all belonging to two families, Jacobs and Levy. Source: David Shulman, Webmaster JCR-UK [December 2016]
