CEMETERY:
- Nottingham Road Cemetery, Jewish Section, Nottingham Road/Cumberland Avenue, Chaddesden, Derby DE21
Although the Jewish cemetery in Derby is generally considered to have opened in 1902, there is a statement in Professor Aubrey Newman's Paper on Derby (on JCR-UK) that "[b]y 1901, when the Chief Rabbi paid a visit to Derby there was a properly organised community possessing a regular cemetery." . The earliest burial took place in September 1906 and the cemetery was extended in 1944. The entrance from Cumberland Avenue is locked, but access can be obtained via the main cemetery.
