(German: Merzweiler) On the site of the first synagogue established in 1721, a new synagogue was constructed in 1822 and rebuilt in 1858, and then restored in 1872. Harmed during WWII it was destroyed after 1945 and house was built on its foundations.The synagogue of Mertzwiller was similar in that of Reichshoffen on architectural plan. Purportedly, a cemetery exists. [January 2008]
