HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Jewish Museum of Maryland. 15 Lloyd Street, Baltimore, Maryland; 21202. Telephone: 410-653-8900. The JMM published a book on synagogues in Maryland so the same info is available from them. JMM holds funeral home records from Jack Lewis Funeral Home (the 1920's through 1940's).

FUNERAL HOMES:

JMM holds funeral home records from Jack Lewis Funeral Home for certain years (largely the 1920's through 1940's). They were the main Jewish funeral home in the late 20's, 30's, and 40's.

Sol Levinson & Bros. Funeral Home, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21208 410-653-8900. began in 1892 as Lewis' business began to dwindle. Levinson's has card index records and computerized records of burials and a useful little booklet about Baltimore cemeteries. They cheerfully do lookups. [January, 2006]
