HOKITIKA: South Island {xxxxx}
This small town on the West Coast of the South Island (pop. 7000) dates from early settlement days and the Gold Rushes of the 1840s and 1850s. 22 graves date from 1850 to 1960 with the 1960 burial being the last remaining Jew in the town.
