Vysokopol'ye is located in Khersonskaya. Vysokopol'ye Alternate name: Kronau (German). The town is location at 48º_ 33º_, 185 km from Kherson and 295 km from Odessa. The mass grave is located at W of the village. Present town population is 1,000-5,000 with fewer than 10 Jews.

The earliest known Jewish community was 19th century. 1939 Jewish population (census) was 270. Effecting the Jewish Community were 1928 elimination of Jewish organizations and 1941 emigration of Jews. The cemetery dates from 19th century. The last known Hasidic burial was 1940. No other towns or villages Jews used this cemetery. The urban flat land, part of a municipal cemetery, has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all. A broken fence with no gate surrounds the site. 21 to 100 common tombstones, most in original location with more than 75% toppled, date from 19th century. The site contains no known mass graves. Municipality owns site now part of the municipal cemetery. Properties adjacent are residential. The mass grave [sic] boundaries have not changed since 1939. Occasionally, local residents visit. The mass grave [sic] was vandalized during World War II. There is no maintenance. Vegetation overgrowth is a seasonal problem, preventing access. Moderate threat: uncontrolled access, pollution, vegetation, vandalism and existing nearby development. Slight threat: weather erosion and proposed nearby development.
