Coat of arms of Rokytnianskyi Raion ALTERNATE NAMES: ROKYTNE and РОКИТНЕ [UKR], ROKITNOYE and Рокитно / Ракитное [RUS], ROKITNA [POL], RAKITNOYE, RAKITNO, ROKITNO. 49°42' N, 30°28' E , 51 miles S of Kyyiv, 17 miles ESE of Bila Tserkva, 9 miles N of Tarashcha. [Not to be confused with Rokitno in Volhynia]. Jewish population: 2,037 (in 1897), 711 (in 1939).

A Jewish cemetery existed.

 

Note:  "I found the Jewish cemetery. The tombstones were hard to read before the war; I took pictures. The tombstones after 1929 were intact. There are three Jewish men left in the town and eight Jewish women. I took pictures of the memorial to the Jews killed there in the progrom. Every family in the shtetl was murdered.
