FOUR MASS GRAVES: Nazis murdered the residents of the Nemyriv ghetto between 1942 and 1944. None of the mass graves is protected, but all are marked by signs mentioning the Holocaust. Organized individual tours, private visitors, and local residents occasionally visit. Local authorities occasionally clear and clean some of the graves and tombstones. At one grave north of Nemyriv near a quarry, local Jews annually restored stones frpm 1950 and 1980. None of the sites have been vandalized. No walls or fences. [January 2009]
