Dorcol is an old neighbourhood on the sloping ground between the Kalemegdan fortress and the Danube bank off Dunavska Ulica (Danube Street). It was a centre of Jewish life for many centuries. A Holocaust memorial in the shape of a burning menorah, sculpted by Nandor Glid, was dedicated in 1990. The site is on the edge of the former Jewish quarter.
