  • My brother, who lives in Israel, and I visited Nowy Dwor in July this year. We are both fluent in Polish and left Poland in 1957. We saw a cemetery totally destroyed and decided to do something about it. We have reached out to families with ties to Nowy Dwor and got some help from the Rabbi of Poland and the mayor of Nowy Dwor. We are also initiating a fund raising drive to build a fence and gate, cover the scattared bones in the cemetery and build a memorial since all the matzevot have been moved by the Nazis to pave roads. A recent website is still being developed: www.nowydworjewishmemorial.com/. This website will also have names of Jewish families who lived in Nowy Dwor for the last 300 years and which we got from the archives.
